4th of July

Happy Independence Day weekend!  Since it’s the 4th of July and a couple families are traveling, we won’t be gathering this Sunday.  I hope you all enjoy the time with family and we will meet the next week, July 11th,  at the Gainey’s at the regular time!

Training & Vision Meeting Time Set

Hope everyone is having a great start to the week!  We won’t be gathering at our normal time Sunday morning.  Instead, we will meet at 5 PM at the Gainey’s house for a Training & Vision Meeting.  We will have childcare provided so that we can get as much done in as little time as possible!  No food for this meeting, so we can focus on the task at hand!  Looking forward to it!

Training & Vision Meeting

I’m trying to plan a few things for the summer and wanted to get everyone’s feedback on a potential date for our Training & Vision Meeting.  How does Sunday evening, June 27th look for you?  We could actually meet for lunch and have the meeting after lunch rather than have the normal gathering that day.  I plan on getting childcare so we can have time and space to listen & discuss.

If you’re wondering what this time will be about….it’s basically a time where you can hear the vision God has given me for our church and to receive training in how you can be a part of that vision.  I’ll talk about things like family discipleship, worship gatherings, outreach, home churches, and LTGs.  I really want to find a time that will work for everyone so that we can all be there.  Let me know what you think.  Thanks!

Sunday, May 30

With the threat of rain and the Murdaughs out of town, we will meet at our house again.  We will be studying 1 Peter chapter 2 and other passages about studying God’s word.  Someone is supposed to be picking up burgers for everyone.  See all of you in the morning!

Sunday, 5/23

We had a great time celebrating 5 baptisms last week!  It’s back to the Gainey’s home this Sunday.  Bring your own lunch/sandwich stuff for food.  We will be discussing Genesis 12-15…specifically the story of Abraham.

Sunday 5/2

We will be gathering at the Gainey’s home this Sunday at our normal time – 10:45.  We will be celebrating several birthdays!  Food is Pizza.  How much do we need?  We will be reading, studying, & discussing the passage from last Sunday’s message – Luke 9:23-24.

Sunday, 4/25

Hey everyone!  I wanted to remind everyone that we will actually be gathering with Safe Harbor Church in Pelham this week.  My friend, Luke Camera, who is the pastor at Safe Harbor asked me to preach for him this week and I told him I would.  So, let’s all show up and worship with them this week.  I’ll be preaching on Luke 9:23 and talking about what it truly means to follow Christ.  It should be fun!

The service begins at 10:30 AM and they are located in front of Staples/Big Lots right on the Pelham/Alabaster line.  You can visit their web site here.    Directions are here.

Sunday, 4/18

Hey everyone!  Since several folks or families are out of town we will not meet tomorrow.  See everyone next week!

Sunday, April 10

The work has begun to repair the water damage from the leak we had.  And since out kitchen is not accessible at this point, we are gathering tomorrow at Veteran’s Park.  It was supposed to be BYOS (Bring Your Own Sandwich), but since we will be there we’re changing it to BYOE (Bring Your Own Everything!).  Let’s gather at 10:30, have worship, then eat lunch afterward together.  Same pavilion as last time–# 8 near the back of the ball fields.  Looking forward to it!

Easter Sunday

Hey everyone!  I trust you’ve all had a great week!  Our original plan for Easter was to attend the Sunrise Service together at Southern Heritage funeral home.  I’ve heard from some of you that it would be really hard to get the family up that early.  So, we’re adjusting plans to include “on your own!”  Some of us will do the Sunrise thing, some are welcome to join Safe Harbor for worship like we mentioned Sunday.  The rest can worship with their families if that is the wish.  So, we will plan on gathering together at our house the next Sunday.  Have a wonderful Easter if we don’t see you.  Praise God we serve a risen Savior!
